Rose du Désert
(Desert Rose)
Vintage Moroccan Boujad Rug | 374 × 183 cm
Handwoven Wool • One-of-a-Kind
━━━━━━━━
The Story
From the weaving traditions of Boujad, Morocco, Rose du Désert carries the warmth, colour and expressive spirit that has made these textiles so treasured.
Boujad rugs are created as individual works, woven by Amazigh women using techniques carried through generations. Rather than following a fixed design, each weaver allows colour, memory and intuition to guide the composition - creating pieces that exist only once.
This vintage Boujad reveals a landscape of sun-washed peach, desert rose and faded coral tones, illuminated with vibrant touches of turquoise, raspberry and violet. At its centre, bold diamond forms draw the eye inward - a motif often seen throughout Moroccan weaving traditions and celebrated for its balance, strength and harmony.
Its shifting colours and irregular details tell the story of a human hand: the rhythm of weaving, the choices of the maker, and the beauty found in imperfection.
A woven memory.
A Moroccan treasure.
A piece that can never be recreated.
